Júlio Silva graduated in 1997 from the SENAC School in Águas de São Pedro, Brazil.
He worked there for two years until he was invited to take up a new challenge, this time in São Paulo’s ALLEZ Bistro. Later, he became manager of the Hotel Amazónia in the Amazonian Forest, until he decided to move again, this time to Portugal in order to study wine. Initially thinking he would just stay long enough to complete his studies, he has now been in Lisbon for twelve years and has no plans to leave.
He is a member of the Association of Sommeliers of Portugal and has been at A Travessa for 11 years, where he is passionate about helping others discover a variety of wines from little-known small-scale producers, producing the highest quality wines.
